Dear Friends, A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating.

First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.

I can't vote black because I am black. I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first and black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008) To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court. There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion.. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures: A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.(Remember this is a live baby) B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse.. The dead baby is then removed.God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons.. I wonder why now? Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc.The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him? Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a ...
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that? Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.

This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.. Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to.

Does Obama believe this? So what does all this mean for the nation? In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.

Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do. Then God says 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.

Here is what we know for sure.God is not schizophrenic He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.

Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation, 1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation? Blessings,

Is the Vatican Strictly a "Religious Organization?"

The answer to that question is quite simple, and it is an unequivocal “NO!” While none of us (who are rational) would deny that there is a Roman Catholic “Church” – a “religious” organization and system that has over one BILLION adherents, we also must recognize that there is a historically documented GEOPOLITICAL entity known as the “Vatican State”, or “Vatican City”. According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, Second College Edition, “Vatican City” is an “independent papal state constituted in 1929 as an enclave in Rome…” The Vatican State (or “City”) has diplomatic relations with most of the nations of the world!

The Papacy, which has long sat atop the authoritative, hierarchical religious system known as the Roman Catholic Church, has a well-documented geopolitical history of ruling for many centuries over the monarchs of Europe. In fact, the Papacy [i.e., Papal Rome] in essence was, and still is, the “ghost” that arose out of the “ashes” of the Imperial Pagan Roman Empire.

For the last four centuries plus, Papal Rome’s Jesuit Order has been one of the most powerful organizations on the GEOPOLITICAL scene. Boyd Barrett, an ex-Jesuit, tells us:

“The Jesuit Order at last reached the pinnacle of its power and prestige in the early eighteenth century [i.e., the early 1700s]. It had become more influential and more wealthy than any other organization in the world. It held a position in world affairs that no oath-bound group of men has ever held before or since… ‘Nearly all the Kings and Sovereigns of Europe had only Jesuits as directors of their consciences [i.e., as confessor-priests], so that the whole of Europe appeared to be governed by Jesuits only.’” (1927; using a short quote by Jesuit Cordara)

J. Wayne Laurens, American historian and author of the book The Crisis: Or, the Enemies of America Unmasked, lets us know about the political side of the Vatican and the Jesuit Order – and how they USE “religion” as a “mask” for advancing their political agenda:

“But we recognize in the Roman Catholic priesthood, and the Jesuit brotherhood, two distinct political organizations, united in purpose and using religion as a mask for political purpose, as they always have done in all ages and countries.”

Author Avro Manhattan, in his book Murder in the Vatican (1985), lets us know that the Vatican is a very powerful GEOPOLITICAL “creature”:

“The Vatican is a superpower – on a par with the USA and Soviet Russia. Indeed, since at times it can act as a formulator of the policies of both, it can be reckoned as the paramount superpower of our times.
Its adherents, a massive portion of mankind, nearing a billion [Ed. Note: it’s now over a billion], can be made to operate in every corner of the world. [There are] sixty million [Roman Catholics] within the USA herself. [Ed. Note: Counting illegal aliens, it’s a lot more than that!]
…Therefore the Vatican is a superpower in its own right. Indeed, because of its duality as a political and as a religious center, it can outbid the other two [superpowers].” (Page 5)

The following quote by Hector Macpherson, author of the book The Jesuits in History, lets us know how terrible it was for mankind when the Roman Catholic Church moved into the geopolitical arena (i.e., the “civil sphere”):

“Had the Roman Catholic Church remained a purely religious organization like any other sect, the world would have been spared centuries of evil [Ed. Note: such as Papal Rome’s “holy” Inquisition, “holy” crusades, “holy” wars, and religious genocide]. But in the course of its development the Romish Church, through its Popes, entered the civil sphere and aspired to universal monarchy.
In the fatal year 800, when Charlemagne was crowned Emperor of the Romans by [Pope] Leo III, there was set upon Western Europe the Papacy, a colossal system whose object is despotic rule of man and society in all spheres, sacred and secular. The Papacy claimed not only to possess the ‘Keys of Heaven’, but also to rule the earth. The pope came to be regarded as the sole representative of Deity on earth, and from him must the empire be held.
…In its egotistical blindness, and intoxicated with the fumes of sacerdotal conceit, the Papacy set itself in opposition to the spirit of nationality, which in the Middle Ages was beginning to create order out of the disorders caused by the fall of the Roman Empire. Foiled in its endeavors to reign unchecked over rising nationalities the Papacy attempted to rule through monarchs devoted to the [Roman Catholic] Church.” (Pages 108, 109)

The Jesuit Order (one of the main political arms of Papal Rome) not only controls its Jesuit “soldiers”, but also the Papacy itself, the powerful and wealthy Knights of Malta, higher-level Knights of Columbus, and the highest levels of Freemasonry. The Jesuits, “masters of politics”, have quite a “track record” of infiltrating and subverting governments. Canadian historian J.E.C. Shepherd tells us the following about expulsions of the Jesuits (due to their political intrigues) in his book The Babington Plot: Jesuit Intrigue in Elizabethan England (1987):

“Between 1555 and 1931 the Society of Jesus [i.e., the Jesuit Order] was expelled from at least 83 countries, city-states and cities, for engaging in political intrigue and subversive plots against the welfare of the State, according to the records of a Jesuit priest of repute [i.e., Thomas J. Campbell]. …Practically every instance of expulsion was for political intrigue, political infiltration, political subversion, and inciting to political insurrection.” (1987; Page 12)

Do the Jesuits have a lot of POLITICAL power in the USA? Here’s what Jeremiah J. Crowley (Irishman; ex-priest in the Roman Catholic Church; author of the book Romanism: Menace to the Nation) tells us concerning the Jesuit Order:

“Today they [i.e., the Jesuits] are stronger in the United States than they ever were in any of the countries of Europe which expelled them as a menace to the government.” (1912)

M.F. Cusack (Ex-nun of Kenmore; author of The Black Pope; 1896) tells us about Papal and Jesuit “politics” in the following two quotes from her book:

“…The Jesuits are the only religious order in the Church of Rome…which has lain under the ban of the [“White”] Pope, or which has been expelled from any country because of its interference in politics. Hence we may expect to find that to obtain political power forms a main feature in the plans of the Society [of Jesus – i.e., the Jesuit Order].” (The Black Pope; 1896)

“The fact is that very few Protestants [Ed. Note: or other Christians] have realized how entirely Rome is a political church, and that she always makes her political advancement her first object.” (The Black Pope; 1896)

The American [Roman] Catholic hierarchy and the Jesuit Order are very active POLITICALLY in the United States of America. Author and journalist Paul Blanchard tells us the following about Roman Catholic POLITICAL power in the USA in his book American Freedom and Catholic Power (1949):

“There is no doubt that the American [Roman] Catholic hierarchy has entered the political arena, and that it is becoming more and more aggressive in extending the frontiers of [Roman] Catholic authority into the fields of medicine, education, and foreign policy… As we shall see in this book [Ed. Note: American Freedom and Catholic Power], the [Roman] Catholic hierarchy in this country [i.e., the USA] has great power as a pressure group, and no editor, politician, publisher, merchant or motion-picture producer can express defiance openly – or publicize documented facts – without risking his future.” (1949)

F. Tupper Saussy, author of the book Rulers of Evil: Useful Knowledge About Governing Bodies (1999), tells us the following about Roman Catholic POLITICAL power in modern America:

“What [Professor Carol A.] Brown [of the University of Massachusetts] had learned from Carl Bernstein, I [i.e., author F. Tupper Saussy] had discovered for myself over several years of private investigation: the papacy really does run United States foreign policy… Yes, [Carl] Bernstein noted that the leading American players behind the Reagan/Vatican conspiracy, to a man, were ‘devout Roman Catholics’ – namely,

William Casey – Director, CIA [Ed. Note: And a papal Knight of Malta];
Richard Allen – National Security Advisor;
Judge William Clark – National Security Advisor;
Alexander Haig – Secretary of State [Ed. Note: And a papal Knight of Malta];
Vernon Walters – Ambassador-at-Large; and,
William Wilson – Ambassador to the Vatican State.
But the reporter neglected to mention that the entire Senate Foreign Relations committee was governed by Roman Catholics as well. Specifically, Senators
· Joseph Biden – Subcommittee on European Affairs;
· Paul Sarbanes – International Economic Policy, Trade, Oceans, and Environment;
· Daniel P. Moynihan – Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs;
· John Kerry – Terrorism, Narcotics, and International Communications; and,
· Christopher Dodd – Western Hemisphere and Peace Corps Affairs.”

“In fact, when the ‘Holy Alliance’ story hit the stands [in 1992], there was virtually no arena of federal legislative activity, according to ‘The 1992 World Almanac of US Politics’, that was not directly controlled by a Roman Catholic senator or representative. The committees and subcommittees of the United States Senate and House of Representatives governing commerce, communications and telecommunications, energy, medicine, health, education and welfare, human services, consumer protection, finance and financial institutions, transportation, labor and unemployment, hazardous materials, taxation, bank regulation, currency and monetary policy, oversight of the Federal Reserve System, commodity prices, rents services, small business administration, urban affairs, European affairs, Near Eastern and South Asian affairs, terrorism / narcotics / international communications, international economic / trade / oceans / environmental policy, insurance, housing, community development, federal loan guarantees, economic stabilization measures (including wage and price controls), gold and precious metals transactions, agriculture, animal and forestry industries, rural issues, nutrition, price supports, Food for Peace, agricultural exports, soil conservation, irrigation, stream channelization, flood control, minority enterprise, environment and pollution, appropriations, defense, foreign operations, vaccines, drug labeling and packaging, drug and alcohol abuse, inspection and certification of fish and processed food, use of vitamins and saccharin, national health insurance proposals, human services, legal services, family relations, the arts and humanities, the handicapped, and aging – in other words, virtually every aspect of secular life in America – came under the chairmanship of one of these Roman Catholic laypersons:

Vatican Council II’s ‘Constitution on the Church’ (1964) instructs [Roman Catholic] politicians to use their secular offices to advance the cause of Roman Catholicism.” (Rulers of Evil; 1999; Pages 2, 3)

“An updating of this list will not reflect a significant change in the presence of Roman Catholic laypersons in the higher legislative reaches. According to the ‘Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities’, in the 106th Congress there are 40 ‘Jesuit alumni’ who graduated from 17 Jesuit institutions [of higher learning]. There are 5 alumni in the U.S. Senate and 35 alumni in the House of Representatives. Out of these 40 alumni, 23 received graduate or professional degrees from Jesuit universities. [Jesuit] Georgetown University has the most graduates, boasting 15 alumni in the U.S. Congress.” (Rulers of Evil; 1999; Page 303)

Of course, we also have a FINANCIAL entity known as the “Vatican Bank”. The Vatican is into international banking and finance “big time”. Avro Manhattan, in his book The Vatican Billions (Chick Publications, 1983), tells us (in the following six quotations) about the enormous wealth of Papal Rome:

“The Vatican has large investments with the Rothschilds of Britain, France and America, with the Hambros Bank, [and] with the Credit Suisse in London and Zurich. In the United States it has large investments with the Morgan Bank, the Chase-Manhattan Bank, the First National Bank of New York, the Bankers Trust Company, and others. The Vatican has billions in shares in the most powerful international corporations such as Gulf Oil, Shell, General Motors, Bethlehem Steel, General Electric, International Business Machines [IBM], T.W.A., etc. At a conservative estimate, these amount to more than 500 million dollars in the USA alone.” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

“In a statement published in connection with a bond prospectus, the Boston archdiocese [of the Roman Catholic Church] listed its assets at Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million ($635,891,004), which is 9.9 times its liabilities. This leaves a net worth of Five Hundred and Seventy-one Million dollars ($571,704,953). It is not difficult to discover the truly astonishing wealth of the [Roman Catholic] Church, once we add the riches of the twenty-eight archdioceses and 122 dioceses of the USA, some of which are even wealthier than that of Boston.” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

“Some idea of the real estate and other forms of wealth controlled by the [Roman] Catholic Church may be gathered by the remark of a member of the New York Catholic Conference, namely ‘that his church probably ranks second only to the United States government in total annual purchase.’ Another statement, made by a nationally syndicated [Roman] Catholic priest, perhaps is even more telling. ‘The Catholic Church’, he said, ‘must be the biggest corporation in the United States. We have a branch office in every neighborhood. Our assets and real estate holdings must exceed those of Standard Oil, A.T.&T., and U.S. Steel combined. And our roster of dues-paying members must be second only to the tax rolls of the United States government.’” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

“The [Roman] Catholic Church, once all her assets have been put together, is the most formidable stockbroker in the world. …The Wall Street Journal said that the Vatican’s financial deals in the U.S. alone were so big that very often it sold or bought gold in lots of a million or more dollars at one time.” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

“The Vatican’s treasure of solid gold has been estimated by the United Nations World Magazine to amount to several billion dollars. …But this is just a small portion of the wealth of the Vatican, which in the U.S. alone is greater than that of the five wealthiest giant corporations of the country. When to that is added all the real estate, property, stocks and shares abroad, then the staggering accumulation of the wealth of the [Roman] Catholic Church becomes so formidable as to defy any rational assessment.” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

“The [Roman] Catholic Church is the biggest financial power, wealth accumulator and property owner in existence. She is a greater possessor of material riches than any other single institution, corporation, bank, giant trust, government or state of the whole globe.” (The Vatican Billions; 1983)

Michael de Semlyen, author of the book All Roads Lead to Rome?: The Ecumenical Movement, tells us the following about Vatican banking scandals:

“Vatican scandals involving large-scale fraud and corruption and complicity in a cover-up have simply been shrugged off. Archbishop Marcinkus [Ed. Note: then-head of the Vatican Bank and at that time a bishop], who was at the center of it all, was protected by the Pope [i.e., John Paul II] for more than seven years – and the Italian state authorities [were] somehow rendered helpless…
Roman Catholic Oxford Professor of Logic, Michael Dummett, accused the Pope [i.e., John Paul II] of complicity in a cover-up to protect [Archbishop] Marcinkus. ‘The Sunday Telegraph’ 15th March, 1987, reporting from the Catholic Weekly ‘The Tablet’, said that Professor Dummett spoke of ‘the Vatican Bank entangled with complicated practices from which the most pungent stink of corruption arises. These practices involved other banks, the Mafia, and the seamiest type of Freemasonry, culminating in what was possibly the bizarre suicide, but more probably the grotesque murder of an Italian banker in London.’
…The Milan [Court] verdict has brought blunt accusations of complicity in Calvi’s murder leveled at [Archbishop] Marcinkus by Calvi’s widow, who claims that her husband had told her shortly before his death: ‘The priests want me dead’. Marcinkus resigned as head of the Vatican Bank, but [he] remained under the pope’s [i.e., John Paul II’s] protection and enjoyed Vatican immunity. Attempts by the Italian authorities to put him on trial with the others accused of fraud were brushed aside by the Vatican; the Pope simply refused to hand him over.” (All Roads Lead to Rome?; 1993; Pages 71, 72)

There is a lot of evidence proving that the Vatican is THE wealthiest organization on planet Earth! And, a lot of Vatican money is used for controlling and manipulating politicians and governments in many parts of the world in order to advance the Jesuit-controlled Vatican’s New World Order agenda of a one-world government and a one-world religion to be ruled despotically from “behind the scenes” by the Jesuit Superior General – the “Black Pope”!

U.S. Forces Nine Major Banks To Accept Partial Nationalization

The U.S. government is dramatically escalating its response to the financial crisis by planning to invest $250 billion in the country's banks, forcing nine of the largest to accept a Treasury stake in what amounts to a partial nationalization.

In pressing the bank executives to accept partial government ownership, Paulson's message was clear: Though officially the program was voluntary, the banks had little choice in the matter. In exchange for giving the Treasury minority stakes, the nine firms would jointly receive an investment worth $125 billion. The government would make another $125 billion available for the next 30 days to thousands of other banks and thrifts across the country.

Federal officials set conditions, telling the banks they could not raise their dividends without government permission and could not offer their executives new retirement packages, though the old packages would remain intact.

Forum calls for global tax to save water

GENEVA -- Hundreds of activists appealed for a global tax on water and the creation of a "world water parliament" to protect its distribution, at the closing of the Alternative World Water Forum Sunday.

The two-day forum's goal is to "promote the creation of a world public service for water" through a series of concrete measures, said Bastienne Joerchel of a Swiss charity group. 

The forum proposed introducing a one-cent tax on water worldwide, which would avoid having to use private funding for the distribution of water. 

A global water parliament -- expected to hold its first meeting in Brussels next year -- would establish the rules to assure the equitable distribution of the vital resource. 

About 1,200 people from around the globe and 150 non-governmental organizations participated in the forum that opened last Friday, including the former Portuguese president Mario Soares, co-chairman of the meeting held ahead of Tuesday's World Water Day. 

The United Nations will launch Tuesday its global campaign called "Water for life," which aims to cut by half the number of people worldwide who do not have access to drinking water by 2015. (by population reduction?)

The forum also adopted an action plan for the recognition of water as a human right, its use for the common good, and called for public financing and democratic control of the resource. 

Riccardo Petrella, a professor at Lugano University in Switzerland, called for water to be excluded from the negotiations at the World Trade Organization on the liberalization of services, and said the World Bank should stop requiring the privatization of water as a condition for granting loans. -- AFP

Sept.10, 2008 titled The Timing of the Rapture, Pre/Mid/Post-Trib?, you know I believe the Black horse with the rider holding the scales of commerce in his hands represents the "Money Men" who own everything in common, by capitalistic means, but want to plunge us into global socialism in order to exert MORE control over YOUR pocketbook.

Did the prospect of cars running on water scare them? What if they will be refused controlling interest? The world suspects that Big Oil has managed to squash other innovations to date, and the eyes of the world are watching Big Oil like never before... so what do you do? (if you aren't quite ready to launch your end game of totalitarian dictatorship under the Anti-Christ?) Limit personal and family water consumption legally! Yeah! That's the ticket! Make it illegal to even draw out too much from your OWN WELL! Rain barrells will probably be taxed out of existance!

Keep watching. This is going to catch a lot of folks completely off guard!

True
1. The Baptism, or Fullness of the Spirit: An influx of the Spirit of God into the human spirit, which liberates the spirit from the soul (Heb. 4: 12), so as to become a pliable organ or channel for the outflow of the Spirit through the believer, manifested in witness to Christ and in aggressive prayer service against the powers of darkness.
It is a true baptizing into the Body of Christ, and oneness with all the members of the Body. Its special mark and result is known in power to witness for Christ, and in conviction of sin in others, and their turning to God.
The highest manifestation of the Fullness of the Spirit is co-existent with the use of the faculties and self-control.
There is but one reception of the Holy Spirit: with many succeeding experiences, developments, or new crises, resultant on fresh acts of faith, or apprehension of truth; various believers having varied degrees of the same Infilling of the Spirit, according to individual conditions. The enduement of power for service is often a definite experience in many lives. Pages 50, 291, 297.

2. The Presence of God: Known in and by the human spirit, through the Holy Spirit. When He fills the atmosphere of a room the spirit of the man is conscious of it, not his senses. The faculties of those present are alert and clear, and they retain freedom of action. The spirit is made tender (Psa. 34: 18), and the will pliable to the will of God. All the actions of a person moved by the true and pure Presence of God are in accord with the highest ideal of harmony and grace. Pages 104, 107.

3. God in and with man in the spirit: John 14: 23. The Father in heaven is realized to be a real Father (Gal. 4: 6), the Son a real Saviour, the Holy Spirit a real Person; manifested as One in the spirit of the believer, by the Holy Spirit: with resulting effects as in Rom. 8: 9-11. Pages 103, 130.

4. Christ manifested in the believer by His Spirit, so that He is known as a Living Person on the Throne in heaven, and the believer joined in spirit to Him there, with the result that Christ's life and nature is imparted to him, forming and building up in him a "new creation," (Gal. 1: 16; 4: 19. Col. 1: 27), the believer growing up into Him in all things.note 1 Pages 103, 107, 126, 127, 289.

5. Consciousness of God: Felt in the spirit, and not by the physical senses. Pages 107, 108.

6. The Holiness of God: when realized by the believer produces worship and godly awe, with a hatred of sin. On the ground of the Blood of Calvary God draws near to men, seeking their love, but His presence does not terrorize. Page 289.

7. Surrender to God: Of spirit, soul and body, is a simple yielding or committal to Him of the whole man, to do His will and be at His service. God asks the full co-operationnote 2 of the man in the intelligent use of all his faculties. Rom. 6: 13. Page 70.

8. Fellowship with the sufferings of Christ: The result of faithful witness for Him, and in such "suffering," the joy of the Spirit breaks forth in spirit. (Acts 5: 41). The fruit of true conformity to Christ's death in the "fellowship of His sufferings" is seen in life to others, and growth in tenderness of spirit, and Christ-likeness in character. 2 Cor. 4: 10-12. Page 89.

9. Trusting God: A true faith given of God in the spirit, having its origin in Him, without effort reckoning upon Him to fulfil His written Word. Co-existent with the full use of every faculty in intelligent action. "Faith" is a fruit of the Spirit and cannot be forced. Gal. 5: 22. 2 Cor. 4: 13. Page 275.

10. Reliance upon God: An attitude of the will, of trust and dependence upon God, taking Him at His word, and depending upon His character of faithfulness. Page 127.

11. Communion with God: Fellowship in the Spirit with Christ in the glory as one spirit with Him. The consciousness of this is in the spirit (John 4: 24) only, and not in "feelings" in the senses. See for conditions of true communion with God, 1 John 1: 5-7. Page 291.

12. Waiting on God: The spirit in restful co-operation with the Holy spirit, waiting God's time to act, and a waiting for Him to fulfil His promises. The true waiting upon God can be co-existent with the keenest activity of mind and service. Page 62-63.

13. Praying to God: Having access to the Holiest of all, on the ground of the Blood (Heb. 10: 19). Penetrating in spirit through the lower heavens to the Throne of Grace. Heb 4: 14-16. True "prayer" is not directed toward God as within the believer, but to a Father in heaven, in the Name of the Son, by the Holy Spirit. Page 126.

14. Asking God: An act of the will in simple faith, making a transaction with God in heaven, on the ground of His written Word. "Answers to prayer" from God are usually so unsensational and so unobtrusive that the petitioner often does not recognize the answer. Cf. pages 249, 276, 279.

15. God speaking: Through His Word, by His Spirit, in the spirit and conscience of the man, illuminating the mind to understand the will of the Lord. Page 136.


Counterfeit.
1. Counterfeit workings of evil spirits may accompany a true reception of the Fullness of the Holy Spirit, if the believer "lets go" his mind into "blankness," and yields his body up passively to supernatural power. As a "blank mind" and "passive body" is contrary to the condition for use required by the Holy Spirit, and is the primary condition necessary for evil spirits to work, the anomaly is found in the Holy Spirit responding to the law of faith, and filling the man's spirit, at the same time that evil supernatural powers respond to the law of passivity fulfilled in mind and body. They then can produce in the senses manifestations, which seem to be the outcome of the Holy Spirit's entry to the spirit.
The results of the counterfeit manifestations are varied, and wide in their ramifications, according to individual conditions. The abstract result is great "manifestations" with little real fruit; "possession" by evil spirits of the mind and body in varied degrees; a spirit of division from others, instead of unity, etc., etc. Pages 54, 97, 106, 107, 108.

2. The counterfeit of the Presence of God is mainly felt upon the body, and by the physical senses, in conscious "fire," "thrills," etc. The counterfeit of the "Presence" in the atmosphere is felt by the senses of the body, as "breath," "wind," etc., whilst the mind is passive or inactive. The person affected by this counterfeit "presence" will be moved almost automatically to actions he would not perform of his own will, and with all his faculties in operation. He may not even remember what he has done when under the "power" of this "presence," just as a sleep-walker knows nothing of his actions when in that state. The inaction of the mind can often be seen by the vacant look in the eyes. Pages 109, 112, 124, 128, 130.

3. Evil spirit's counterfeit, as the occasion serves them, each Person of the Trinity, and can thus obtain access, and become in and with a man in manifestations given to the senses, in which the real spirit-sense may have no part. Pages 52, 103, 104, 105, 108.

4. Christ apparently manifested inwardly as a "Person," to whom the soul prays, or with whom he holds communion, yet there is no real evidence of the expression of the Divine nature, or true growth of the Christ life, with a deepening fellowship with the Christ in heaven. On the contrary the Christ in heaven seems far away. The counterfeit centres and ends in an "experience" which keeps the person introverted or self-centred (spiritually). Page 107. Cf. pp. 289, 290, 291.

5. "Consciousness" of "God" in bodily sensations, which feed the "flesh" and overpower the true spirit-sense. Pages 106, 130.

6. Evil spirits counterfeit this by giving a terror of God, which drives men away from Him, or forces them into actions of slavish fear, apart from the use of the mind, and volition, in glad voluntary obedience to Him. Page 143.

7. Passive yielding of spirit, soul and body to supernatural power, to be moved automatically, in passive, blind obedience, apart from the use of volition or mind. Evil spirits desire "control" of a man, and his passive submission to them. Pages 68, 69.

8. "Suffering" caused by evil spirits is characterized by a fiendish acuteness, and is fruitless in result--the victim being hardened instead of mellowed by it. The demons can cause anguished suffering in spirit, soul or body. "Possession" manifested in abnormal suffering, may be the fruit of (unconscious) acceptance of sufferings caused by evil spirits, often under the name of the "will of God." Pages 88, 89, 90.

9. "Trusting evil spirits" comes about through trusting blindly some supernatural words, or revelations, supposed to come from God, which produces a forced "faith," or faith beyond the believer's true measure, the result being actions which lead into paths of trial never planned by God. Pages 129, 135, 274, 275.

10. Reliance upon evil spirits means a passive leaning upon supernatural help and experience, which draws the person away from faith in God Himself, and from active co-action with Him. Page 143.

11. "Communion" with evil spirits may take place by retiring within to enjoy sense communion, in "exquisite feelings" which absorbs and renders the soul incapable of the duties of life. The "flesh" is fed by this spurious spiritual "communion" as really as in grosser ways. Pages 124, 125, 155.

12. A "waiting for the Spirit to come," in hours of prayer, which brings those who "wait" into passivity, which at last reaches a point of "séance" conditions, followed by an influx of lying spirits in manifestations. Pages 62, 63.

13. Praying to evil spirits comes about by praying to "God" in the atmosphere, or within, or possibly to "pictures" of God in the mind; instead of approaching the Throne of Grace according to Heb. 10: 19. Pages 95, 130.

14. "Asking" evil spirits, by speaking to some supernatural presence in, or around the person. The "answers" are generally "dramatic," sensational, calculated to over-awe the person, and make him feel he is a wonderful recipient of favour from on high. By this means the demons gain control over him. Pages 118, 119, 142.

15. Evil spirits speaking, wither puffing up, accusing, condemning or confusing the person, so that the is bewildered or distracted and cannot exercise his reason or judgment. The "speaking" of accusing spirits resembles the "thinking," or speaking to oneself, when the words are not uttered audibly. Pages 170, 171.

Pre-Trib Hypocrisy

Yes, hypocrisy! Hypocrisy tied to pretrib rapture leaders as well as to the pretrib rapture view. (You can't believe how many "pretribbers" have told me over the years that they either have doubts about pretrib or don't even believe it----but they promote it anyway!)

Pretrib icon C. I. Scofield could be hypocritically double-minded. In a 1921 letter to his daughter Abigail, who had a financial need while then living in San Luis Obispo,California, he advised her to pray to a Catholic saint: "...why don't you seek the special intercession of the San Luis in whose name-town you live?" (This entire letter is in Joseph Canfield's classic work The Incredible Scofield and His Book published by Ross House Books.) But a dozen years earlier in his Scofield Bible (p. 1346) he had begun predicting a future reign of "apostate Christendom, headed up under the Papacy"!

Many evangelicals are still unaware that during the 1980's Hal Lindsey proudly announced that two of his daughters, Robin and Jenny, were then enrolled at Gonzaga University, a Jesuit Catholic school. (The Jesuits were originally Catholicism's arm to terroristically infiltrate and destroy the growing Protestant Reformation.) But years earlier Lindsey's There's A New World Coming (pp. 58, 103) stated, and continues to state, that the "dominant church" of the "Middle Ages" which "bound the people to image-worship, superstition, and priest craft" is the "prostituted form of Christianity" that will eventually become "the Antichrist of Rome"!

I still have a letter I received dated Nov. 14, 1971 and signed by a William T. Bruner. Here's the eye-catching part: "I was brought up to be a strong Pre-Tribulationist. In fact I never even thought that the other view was worth inquiring into. When Dr. Bob Jones called me to teach in the Bob Jones College one of the first questions he asked me was, whether I held to this view, and of course I said Yes. But while I was professor of Greek New Testament at the Bob Jones University, 1949-1955, one of my colleagues, Robert Besancon, happened to ask me if I had ever read anything on the Post-Trib side. I had to confess that I never had. He recommended two little books by Horner. I read them and was truly astonished to find that the Post-Trib view is the simpler, more Scriptural, and more reasonable of the two. So I am now a Post-Tribulationist.

Very interestingly, though, there was at that time on the BJU faculty a great scholar, Dr. Charles Brokenshire, who could teach 25 languages and every subject in the School of Religion. But he was a Post-Tribulationist. Dr. Jones considered him worth more than any other faculty member, perhaps worth more than all of us put together. During the school year 1954-55 Dr. Brokenshire died. After he died Dr. Jones went before his faculty meeting and announced that from that time on he would be true to his old-time promise to the Christians of America that he would strongly emphasize the Pre-Tribulation doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ and that he wanted all his teachers in the School of Religion to stand in favor of that doctrine!"

Well, it's apparent that the first Dr. Bob had been playing the role of hypocrite! (Dr.Roland Rasmussen, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Canoga Park, California, can verify the late Dr. Bruner's letter. As a BJU prof then, Rasmussen was at the same faculty meeting.)

Several years ago my wife and I found ourselves chatting on the BJU campus with one of it's best-known profs. We were astounded when he admitted that even though that school publicly promotes pretrib, professors can privately hold to differing rapture views as long as they retain at least a premill outlook!

The year 1973 found me handing out posttrib literature on a Kansas City sidewalk to delegates going into the annual conference of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. It was easy for them to react by saying bluntly "We're pretrib!" and just as easy for me to say just as bluntly "Not only is pretrib not in the Bible, but it isn't in even your GARBC statement of faith!" After I widely aired their hypocrisy, they added pretribwording to their official statement during a following conference so that their doctrine could finally begin practicing what the GARBC "doctors" had long been preaching! A Dec. 31, 1983 letter written on Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God stationery by one of their profs, J. Bashford Bishop, contained these shocks: "Thanks for the book. [I had given him my 1983 book The Great Rapture Hoax.] I'll do what I can to circulate your book through our Assemblies of God [who], as you know, are opposed to Post-tribism. Make a point of getting acquainted with Joseph Flower, our General Secy. at headquarters in Springfield. He and I were schoolmates and both of us were Post-trib then and ever since. He would be glad to discuss with you the subject----a real man of God."

We'd been doing research there in Springfield, Missouri that winter and soon enjoyed two hour-long chats with Flower, the No. 2 AG leader. Secretaries outside his open office door could easily hear everything discussed. I asked how he could hold to a non-approved rapture view. He replied that AG ministers are required to uphold pretrib but privately can believe any other rapture view. When I remarked that such a rule encourages hypocrisy, Flower sheepishly agreed. Incidentally, those chats took place several years before any of the hypocrisy-filled scandals having to do with Bakker and Swaggart, two AG ministers!
