Establishing the I.D. of "Mystery Babylon" as Vatican Rome

This is the 1st in a series of 3.
#2 is "The Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the Mark of the Beast"
#3 is "Rapture Timing- Pre-/Mid/Post? Seals, Vial, Trumpets"

Slide 1
Before we can understand prophecy, we must understand history, and how it pertains to current events.
The place to start...is the beginning. Just after the great flood.

Slide #2
Gen.10: 1. Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.
6. The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
8. Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
9. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.''
10. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Slide #3-Josephus-1st century historian NIMROD -“The Rebel” according to Dr. David Livingston

Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah -- a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it were through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. Ed; The beginning of human secularism-a direct rebellion against God

He also gradually changed the government into tyranny -- seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence upon his own power. Ed; Babylonian Religion-Secular and Religious Domination
He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! and that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers (Ant. 1: iv: 2)

Slide #4
Gen.11:
1. And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
4. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

Slide#5
6. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

o Nimrod’s consort/wife? Semiramis-gave birth to Tammuz
o Developed religion worshipping Nimrod until Shem killed him for Idolatry
o Proclaimed Tammuz was Nimrod-reborn and she was Mother of God
o Priests of Babylon made her Queen of Heaven after her death.
Slide #8- The Queen of Heaven was worshipped as far as the dispersion carried men. They took their religion with them. The newly founded civilizations were Babylonishly pagan. Semiramis remained the Queen of Heaven but obtained new names in different civilizations. The Jews in the O.T. worshipped her against Gods will.

Jerem.44: Living Bible
15. Then all the women present and all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to idols (it was a great crowd of all the Jews in southern Egypt) answered Jeremiah: 16. ``We will not listen to your false `Messages from God'! 17. We will do whatever we want to. We will burn incense to the `Queen of Heaven' and sacrifice to her just as much as we like--just as we and our fathers before us, and our kings and princes have always done in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for in those days we had plenty to eat and we were well off and happy! 18. But ever since we quit burning incense to the `Queen of Heaven' and stopped worshiping her we have been in great trouble and have been destroyed by sword and famine.'' 19. ``And,'' the women added, ``do you suppose that we were worshiping the `Queen of Heaven' and pouring out our libations to her and making cakes for her with her image on them, without our husbands knowing it and helping us? Of course not!''

Slide #9- “Queen of Heaven”

Worship of mother and child spread from Babylon to the ends of the earth, but were called different names in the languages of the various counties where their worship appeared. The ancient Germans worshipped the virgin HERTHA with the child in the arms of his mother. The Scandinavians called her DISA pictured with her child. In Egypt, the mother and her child were worshiped as ISIS with the infant OSIRIS or HORUS seated on his mother's lap. In India, the mother and child were called DEVAKI and KRISHNA, and also ISI and ISWARA as they are worshiped to this day. In pagan Rome, as FORTUNA and the boy JUPITER; in Greece, as CERES, the great mother with babe at her breast, or as IRENE, the goddess of peace, with the boy PLUTUS in her arms. Even in Tibet, China, and Japan, Jesuit missionaries were astonished to find the Roman counterpart of MADONNA and child. SHING MOO, the holy mother in China was portrayed with a child in her arms and a glory around her.
Semiramis was worshiped in Ephesus as the pagan fertility goddess DIANA who represented the generative powers of nature. She was referred to as a fertility goddess because she mothered all the numerous pagan gods representing the god-incarnate Nimrod. Diana was pictured with numerous teats so that she could nurse all the pagan gods, and she wore a tower-shaped crown symbolizing the Babylonian tower of Babel.

Rev.17:3-6
3. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: (slide #16 will illustrate)
5. And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Slide #11-Rev.17:
7. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
9. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
15. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
18. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Slide #12-By Curtis Pugh
1. Clue number one: A thoughtful reading of Revelation chapters 17 and 18 shows that this woman is more than just an individual. She symbolizes a "city" that controls the governments of the world (Rev. 17:18).
2. The second clue is her influence and popularity. She sits on many waters explained to be the peoples of the world, Rev. 17: 1, 15 (See how the Bible explains itself!) Catholic leaders of countries must obey the RCC according to Church law.-Secular authority.
3. Clue number three is her connection with civil governments. Revelation 17:2, and 18 mention her ties with "the kings of the earth." She is a world political power and is recognized as such by various governments. Catholic leaders of countries must obey the RCC according to Church law.-Secular authority. ED; MOST COUNTRIES HAVE AN AMBASSADOR TO THE VATICAN-THE USA DOES-
Ambassador Miguel Díaz Departs PostNovember 7, 2012 -- VATICAN CITY — Miguel H. Díaz, United States Ambassador to the Holy See since 2009, will leave his position following the presidential elections and return to academia effective the week of November 13, 2012. Ambassador Díaz was proud to serve almost three and a half years in his position as the 9th U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See.
Slide #13
4. The fourth clue is her bright colorful attire. Rich colors of purple, scarlet (Rev. 17:4) and "linen" (Rev. 18:16 - white in color) are hers. Could the leaders of this "Harlot" actually wear these colors? Her adornment is also gold, precious stones and pearls. Slide # 16 will add clarity to this.
5. Clue number five has to do with her immense wealth. She possesses riches in abundance (Rev. 17:4; 18:7, & 11-19). Vast financial holdings make this "city" a great power in world commerce.
6. Clue number six concerns a multitude of martyrs. Read Rev. 17:6 and Rev. 18:24. What city of worldwide influence has been responsible for multitudes martyred because of their faith in Christ and the Bible? Read Fox’s “Book of Martyrs”.
Slide #14
7. The seventh clue is her name. Revelation 17:5 tells us her name is MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT.... She is not literal Babylon, for that is in ruins. She is "Mystery Babylon." Archaeology has shown that Babylon was the origin of mystery religions such as the worship of Semiramis and Tammuz, the ancient eastern Madonna and child. Locate where and by whom these are venerated today under other names and you may be well on your way to solving this puzzle.
8. Clue number eight is her location. She is a "city" that sits on seven mountains (Rev. 17:9, 18). There is a famous city that sits on seven hills (mountains in the local tongue) which has named them (1) Palatine; (2) Capitoline; (3) Quirinal; (4) Aventine; (5) Caelian; (6) Esquiline; and (7) Viminal.

Let all the children of the Catholic Church, who are so very dear to us, hear these words of ours. With a still more ardent zeal for piety, religion, and love, let them continue to venerate, invoke and pray to the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, conceived without original sin (Ed; this would make Mary deity). Let them fly with utter confidence to the most sweet Mother of mercy and grace in all dangers, difficulties, needs, doubts and fears. Under her guidance, under her patronage, under her kindness and protection, nothing is to be feared; nothing is hopeless. Because, while bearing toward us a truly motherly affection and having in her care the work of our salvation, , (NOTE: MARY IS LOOKED TO FOR SALVATION) she is solicitous about the whole human race. And since She has been appointed by God to be the Queen of heaven and earth, and is exalted above all the choirs of angels and saints, and even stands at the right hand of her only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, {NOTE:MARY HAD OTHER SONS-Matt.13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?}, she presents our petitions in a most efficacious manner. What she asks, she obtains. Her pleas can never be unheard.

RCC refers to Jesus as Mary’s only begotten son, putting her ABOVE Jesus- on same footing as Eternal Spirit-father.

Mary is Semiramis in disguise.
. The Assumption of Mary- In 1950, in the Apostolic Constitution, Pope Pius XII proclaimed the Assumption of Mary a dogma of the Catholic Church in these words: "The Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heaven."

Various Quotes of the Roman Catholic Church:
Apology: I, in no way, wish to insult or offend followers of the Roman Catholic Faith, and believe there must be millions Catholics, and simple clergy who truly love Jesus, and are unaware of these statements. This is not an attempt to reflect poorly on their faith and love for Jesus and his word. However, I must share what the top officials in that institution honestly believe.

“The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ, Himself, hidden under the veil of human flesh.” — Catholic National, July 1895.

“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” — Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, “Cities Petrus Bertanous”.

“We hold upon this earth the place of God almighty.” — Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894.

“Even if the Pope were Satan incarnate, we ought not to raise up our heads against him, but calmly lie down to rest on his bosom. He who rebels against our Father is condemned to death, for that which we do to him we do to Christ: we honor Christ if we honor the Pope; we dishonor Christ if we dishonor the Pope. I know very well that many defend themselves by boasting: “They are so corrupt, and work all manner of evil!” But God has commanded that, even if the priests, the pastors, and Christ-on-earth were incarnate devils, we be obedient and subject to them, not for their sakes, but for the sake of God, and out of obedience to Him.” — St. Catherine of Siena, SCS, p. 201-202, p. 222, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 5: “The Book of Obedience”, Chapter 1: “There is No Salvation Without Personal Submission to the Pope”).

“The (Catholic) Church is the entrance to life; all others are thieves and robbers. On this account we are bound to avoid them....Resist them in defense of the only true and life giving faith, which the Church has received from the Apostles and imparted to her sons.” — St. Irenaeus, Against Heresies, Book III, (quoted in article “The Perennial Understanding of the Church”, by Saint Benedict Center).

“The church may by divine right confiscate the property of heretics, imprison their person, and condemn them to flames. In our age, the right to inflict the severest penalties, even death, belongs to the church. There is no graver offense than heresy, therefore it must be rooted out.” — Public Eccliastical, Vol. 2, p.142.

“When confronted with heresy, she (Catholic Church) does not content herself with persuasion, arguments of an intellectual and moral order appear to her insufficient, and she has recourse to force, to corporal punishment, to torture.” — The Rector of the Catholic Institute of Paris, H.M.A. Baudrillart, quoted in The Catholic Church, The Renaissance, and Protestantism 182-183.

“A heretic merits the pains of fire....By the Gospel, the canons, civil law, and custom, heretics must be burned.” — The American Textbook of Popery, p 164 (quoting from the “Directory for the Inquisitors”).

“The Pope is of great authority and power, that he is able to modify, declare, or interpret even divine laws. The Pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man, but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth...” — Lucius Ferraris, in “Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica, Juridica, Moralis, Theologica, Ascetica, Polemica, Rubristica, Historica”, Volume V, article on “Papa, Article II”, titled “Concerning the extent of Papal dignity, authority, or dominion and infallibility”, #30, published in Petit-Montrouge (Paris) by J. Key to understanding End Time Events:
Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream and the Interpretation

Dan.2:
1. And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
3. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
4. Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
5. The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
6. But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
7. They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
8. The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
9. But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
10. The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
11. And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
12. For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
13. And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
14. Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
15. He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

Slide 18 Dan.2:
28. But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

Slide 19 Dan. 2:- The Dream
31. Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
33. His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Slide 20- Picture of the Image

Slide 21- The Interpretation
36. This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
37. Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them All. Thou art this head of gold.
39. And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
40. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

Slide 22- The interpretation-continued
41. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Now for a bit of DRY HISTORY-How Rome Became Mystery Babylon
Clarence Larkin’s classic commentary, The Book of Revelation (© 1918 Rev. Clarence Larkin Estate; p. 151-152), explains how the Caesars and Popes obtained the title and headship of the “Babylonian Priesthood” mysteries which Hislop’s book also explains. A brief history is required as to how Rome obtained this title. So, the seat of Satan was Babylon, but it was defeated by Media-Persia whose capitol was Pergamos. The Persians brought the Babylonian priesthood and rites to their capitol.

Quoting Mr. Larkin: “When Attalus, the Pontiff and King of Pergamos, died B.C. 133, he bequeathed the Headship of the Babylonian Priesthood to Rome. When the Etruscans came to Italy from Lydia (The region of Pergamos), they brought with them the Babylonian religion and rites. They set up a Pontiff who was head of the Priesthood. Later the Romans accepted this Pontiff as their civil ruler. Julius Caesar was made Pontiff of the Etruscan Order in B.C. 74. In B. C. 63, he was made Supreme Pontiff of the “Babylonian Order,” thus becoming heir to the rights an title of Attalus, Pontiff of Pergamos…Thus the first Roman Emperor become head of the “Babylonian Priesthood” and Rome the successor of Babylon (p. 151-152).”

Mr. Larkin goes on to say that many emperors used this title until A.D. 376 when the Emperor Gratain, for Christian reasons, refused this title. Bishop Damasus of the Church at Rome in 378 A. D. became the Head of the “Babylonian Order” and Ruler of the “Roman Catholic Church.” Thus, we have the uniting of the Roman and Babylonian system which shows that Rome is the seat of apostasy in this age of Grace after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Slide 24- back to the interpretation of the image: Daniel 2
The Holy Roman Empire

At the time of the end of writing the scriptures, Rome was the ruler of the world. It wasn’t a Christian authority yet. Rome crucified Jesus. It severely persecuted the true Church. Paul was executed there by the Roman authorities. All that would change under Emperor Constantine.

1 Tim.4: 1. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3. Forbidding to marry (the Roman doctrine against priests marrying has caused untold damage), and commanding to abstain from meats (RCC doctrine of eating fish on Fri. to help secular market) , which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Slide #25 Rev.17:
12. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Roman Emperor Constantine Embraced Christianity: both blessing and curse.

More DRY HISTORY...
Synopsis- from EarlyChurch.org.UK
CONSTANTINE THE GREAT AND HIS SONS. 1. Constantine, Roman Emperor from 306 to 337; was born in 274, and was, after the death of his father at York (July 25, 306), proclaimed emperor by the legions of Gaul. He immediately took possession of Britain, Gaul, and Spain; and after a series of brilliant victories over Maxentius, ending with the bloody battle at the Milvian Bridge, just under the walls of Rome, he also became master of Italy (312). He now ruled over the ‘Western Empire, as Licinius over the Eastern: but war broke out between them in 314; and in 323, after the battle of Chalcedon, in which Licinius was killed, Constantine became sole lord of the whole Roman world. He died in 337, at Nicomedia.

Tradition tells us that he was converted to Christianity suddenly, and by a miracle. One evening during the contest with Maxentius, he saw a radiant cross appearing in the heavens, with the inscription, "By this you will conquer." The tradition is first mentioned by Eusebius, in his De Vita Constantini, written after the emperor’s death.

His conversion was a change of policy, rather than of moral character. After his supposed conversion, he killed his son, his second wife, several others of his relatives, and some of his most intimate friends. He retained the office and title of Pontifex Maximus to the last (remember this was title to headship of the Babylonian Order-pagan The Roman world more and more assumed the aspect of a Christian state. In the Roman Empire, the most diverse religions lived peacefully side by side, and here was a religion which could not live in peace with itself. {Paul taught we should all teach the same thing...what happened?}

Remember Paul said...Acts 20:27. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

(For political reasons, however, unity and harmony were necessary; and in 325 the Emperor convened the first great ecumenical council at Nicæa to settle the Arian controversy, the questionable understanding of the Godhead. At Nicæa, the idea of a kingship of God’s grace began to dawn upon mankind. After the Council of Nicæa, Constantine conversed more and more frequently and intimately with the bishops. His interest in Christianity grew with the years; but his religion never changed his heart, only his politics.

But the new religion called Christianity (or, Roman Catholicism) was not the religion that had arrived on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, nor was it the faith which was depicted in the book of Acts and in the letters of the apostles. Jesus’ kingdom, according to the Master himself, was "not of this world"; but Christianity, the religion of Rome, was most certainly and most thoroughly of this world.

Rome, the mistress of the nations, was guided by Satan to alter her appearance so as to be able to continue to rule, and to rule not only the territories of earth, but the souls of its inhabitants. The Roman Empire became an earthly kingdom which claimed not to be one. It governed not merely by military power but by religious doctrine; and as it had once conquered worldly kingdoms by force, it now conquered men's souls by claiming to speak in Christ's stead. Even many of the newly created nation of Spirit-filled believers in Christ were taken.

Though few perceived it, what had arrived on the stage of world history was the final kingdom prefigured by Nebuchadnezzar's awful Image. John's vision in Revelation describes her as "the great Whore that sitteth upon many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication. And the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. . . . And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration"

The Reformation- Catholic priests broke away from Rome but Rome was still very much a part of her daughters. Martin Luther was condemned by RCC to burn at the stake, which they were not able to carry out- Martin Luther burned Anabaptists at the stake for re-baptizing his followers. Many left RCC but took much false doctrine with them.

If our doctrine is NOT strictly in agreement with the bible- we may be practicing Roman tradition in ignorance. It is imperative that we follow the word of God, not the tradition of men.

Col.2:
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Carloman inherited the kingdom of the Franks. In 771 Carloman died, and Charlemagne became sole ruler of the kingdom. At that time the Franks were falling back into barbarian ways, neglecting their education and religion. The Saxons of northern Europe were still pagans.
In the south, the Roman Catholic Church was asserting its power to recover land confiscated by the Lombard kingdom of Italy. Europe was in turmoil.Charlemagne was determined to strengthen his realm and to bring order to Europe. In 772 he launched a 30-year military campaign to accomplish this objective. By 800 Charlemagne was the undisputed ruler of Western Europe. His vast realm encompassed what are now France, Switzerland, Belgium, and The Netherlands. It included half of present-day Italy and Germany, and parts of Austria and Spain.

By establishing a central government over Western Europe, Charlemagne restored much of the unity of the old Roman Empire and paved the way for the development of modern Europe. On Christmas Day in 800, while Charlemagne knelt in prayer in Saint Peter's in Rome, Pope Leo III placed a golden crown on the bowed head of the king. Charlemagne is said to have been surprised by the coronation, declaring that he would not have come into the church had he known the pope's plan. However, some historians say the pope would not have dared to act without Charlemagne's knowledge.” Above from lucidcafe.com

The Rise of the Holy Roman Empire began with Charlemagne. The Empire ruled for about 1000yrs-crushing all opposition with cruelty, death, and destruction. Ended 1798 by a Napoleonic general-abolishing the papal government. Possible understanding of the beast that died of a mortal head wound.

Throughout European history, the dream of a "Holy Roman Empire" has persisted, and actually claimed by some. As recently as the early 1900's, leaders of both Germany and Russia flattered themselves with titles derived from the title "Caesar" (Kaiser and Tsar, respectively). In the sixth century, when invading barbarians forced the civil authorities to abandon the city of Rome, the head of the Christian church in Rome remained behind and assumed an ancient Roman title which designated the ruler of the city. To this day, this name is preserved in the Pope's title, "Pontiff"

Now the Popes official kingdom is the Vatican. Hierarchal government

Interesting note: In Alexander Duncan's explanation regarding Aleister Crowley's "Law of Thelema", he writes:
Thelemites are divided into two main spiritual schools or orders, the A...A... (Astrum Argentium, or Silver Star), and the O.T.O. (Ordo Templi Orientis, or Order of the Temple of the Orient) (there are at least two more Thelemic organizations authorized by Crowley, viz., the L.I.L. and the G.B.G., and a few that appeared posthumously, but the former are the main ones).
The A...A... is a temporal manifestation of the Great White Brotherhood, and not necessarily the only one, one of the three fundamental spiritual schools of humanity, the others being the Black School, associated mainly with Buddhism and Gnosticism, and the Yellow School, associated mainly with Taoism. In addition to the White, Black, and Yellow Schools, there is a fourth group called the Black Brotherhood, not to be confused with the Black School, whose adherents consist of high ranking adepts who, through fear and selfishness, failed to transcend the limitations of the human personality and hence “fall back into” or “remain in” the abyss, where they morally disintegrate. The Black Brothers are at odds with all true spiritual schools, and seek to dominate the human race, subjecting them for their own purposes. They are closely associated with the exoteric systems based on priest craft and rules, which almost completely reject the pursuit of personal spiritual experience in favour of a rule-based ethic of obedience, conformity, and vicarious salvation. The Black Brothers interfere with human history in pursuit of their own agenda, precipitating wars, chaos, and social strife, promoting authoritarianism, materialism, rationalism, industrialism, urbanism, scientism, and collectivism, and repressing all authentic spirituality in the pursuit of global domination and the subjection of the human race. The White School is also involved in human history, much more so than either the Black or Yellow Schools, which avoid worldly involvements. Many of the greatest historical spiritual teachers, as well as many artistic and scientific geniuses, have actually been Secret Chiefs of the Great White Brotherhood, who have entered into incarnation in order to help guide humanity towards the realization of the ultimate goal, the attainment of universal enlightenment. Aleister Crowley himself claimed to be a Secret Chief of the White School, and not a Black Brother, although in a moment of pique he described himself as a "black magician."

Was he referring to the Roman Catholic Church?  The followers of the Law of Thelema, and Roman Catholicism both hide the truth of Nimrod, Semiramus, Tammuz within their own mythology.  Both worship Semiramus as Queen of Heaven, under different names. Both are equally devilish, teaching doctrines of devils.
