The Volcanic Return of Jesus Christ

Wrath of God

Promises to the Believer-

Romans 5:9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

1 Thess 1 10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thess 5: 9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lava: the Blood of the Earth?
"...the earth also shall disclose her blood,"
"...and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs"
It has been suggested that the geographic layout of the land of Israel is shaped like a winepress, with the head of the winepress at the Golan Heights, Mt. Hermon- historically volcanic.

The Earth to be destroyed twice- 1st by water, then by fire.
Gen 6: 13. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

2 Peter 3: 3.  Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
 4.  And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
 5.  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
 6.  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
 7.  But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
 8.  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
 9.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
 10.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
 11.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
 12.  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
 13.  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

We know that the first earth was destroyed by water... it perished.  I believe we have scriptural precedence  to support the argument that at Jesus' 2nd coming the current earth will "perish" from fire/lava.

Scriptural precedence hinting at volcanic reaction to the presence of the Lord.:

Judges 5: 4.  Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
 5.  The mountains melted from before the Lord, even that Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel.

Psalms 46
 1.  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
 2.  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
 3.  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
 4.  There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
 5.  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
 6.  The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
 7.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
 8.  Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
 9.  He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Psalms 68- prophetic ?
 1.  Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
 2.  As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
 3.  But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Psm 97
3.  A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4.  His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5.  The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
 6.  The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
 7.  Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Isaiah 63- The Wrath Foretold
 1.  Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
 2.  Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
 3.  I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
 4.  For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
 5.  And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.- 2nd coming
 6.  And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

Nahum 1:
2.  God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
 3.  The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
 4.  He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
 5.  The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
 6.  Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Joel 3: 13.  Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

  Rapture then wrath
Isa. 26: 20. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. (RAPTURE)
21. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. (WRATH)

 Rev.14:-
14. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
15. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. (RAPTURE)
17. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
 18.  And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
 19.  And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
 20.  And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.(WRATH)

Like the Wheat and the Tares:
Matthew 13
 24.  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
 25.  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
 26.  But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
 27.  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
 28.  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
 29.  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
 30.  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles (drawn to the valley of Meggido) to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Rev. 19:
 11.  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
 12.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
 13.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
 14.  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
 15.  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
 16.  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
 17.  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
 18.  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
 19.  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
 20.  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Lava?)
21. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Result of rebellion against God:

Rom.1:
18.  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
 Rom.2:
1.  Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
 2.  But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
 3.  And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
 4.  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
 5.  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
 6.  Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
 7.  To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
 8.  But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

Eph.5:
1.  Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
 2.  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
 3.  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
 4.  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
 5.  For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
 6.  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Finally...

Zechariah 14:
 1.  Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
 2.  For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
 3.  Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
 4.  And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
 5.  And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
 6.  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
 7.  But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
 8.  And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
 9.  And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
 10.  All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
 11.  And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
 12.  And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.(Couldn't be nuclear bomb... or any other kind of bomb!  That's what we used to say.  But lava...)
 13.  And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
 14.  And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.
 15.  And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

After the thousand year reign of Jesus with the saints:
I believe this scripture fits here rather than at the 2nd coming:

Isaiah 34
 1.  Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
 2.  For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
 3.  Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
 4.  And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
 5.  For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
 6.  The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
 7.  And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
 8.  For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
 9.  And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
 10.  It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever....(because Jerusalem will be inhabited at the 2nd coming- I believe this is post millennium.)

Rev.20:
6. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
